FAQ's

When is the application due?

The complete application is due May 15. Please upload supporting documents to our secure portal as they become available and save your application in draft form rather than wait until you have gathered all information. Phone screenshots of supporting documents are not acceptable.

I am planning to return to the club next summer. What should my employment end date say?

If you're returning to the club, indicate "to present" in the employment date question. If you indicate an end date, we will assume you are NOT returning next summer.

I don't see my club listed. Can I still apply?

Applicants must be from one of the member clubs listed. If you have a question about why your club doesn't appear on the list, contact Hilary Barrueco (see above email).

Do I need an official transcript?

We will accept unofficial transcripts from your school. It must be the most recent transcript available. Do not submit report cards.

What if I did not sit for any standardized testing?

We do not require standardized testing results. If your school did not require the ACT or SAT, please upload a statement indicating you did not take these exams.

What is the FAFSA Submission Summary (FSS) and where do I find it?

The FSS is a detailed summary of your answers to the FAFSA questions and includes the SAI (Student Aid Index) used by many schools to help determine your financial aid eligibility. You can find this 12-15 page report in the "My Activity" section of your dashboard at StudentAid.gov. Please upload the entire report.

My parents don't want to submit their tax return. What should I do?

Our scholarship is a need-based program and requires this financial information to help make our decisions. Your information is stored in a secure portal and is handled with respect and full confidentiality. Any social security numbers can be redacted.

Where do I find my financial award statement?

Most schools make this information available through your student portal. The statement may include Cost of Attendance at your school as well as any financial awards you're receiving--

academic scholarships, grants, financial aid, subsidized/unsubsidized loans, work study, etc. This information comes from your school, NOT from the FAFSA website.

How do I complete the section about paying for college if I don't know this information?

Do your best! We know this is a fluid process and you may not have complete information on how your family will handle the costs of college at this time. The total of all information should approximate the cost of attendance at your school. You will have the chance to speak with a representative of our scholarship program to talk through this section.

What happens after I complete the application and submit my supporting documents?

You will hear from a representative of our scholarship program to set up a phone interview to discuss your application once it is complete. This conversation will help fill in any gaps in your information and give you a chance to discuss your college plans, service to golf, etc..

How do I know if I qualify for a caddie scholarship?

Our program is financial need-based and supports students who have demonstrated financial need as well as at least two years of service to golf.
